Fell running workshop
3 Day course

This course runs over 3 days in the beautiful Langdale Valley. Suitable for all abilities and experience in fell/train running, whether you are new to running off-road or if you want to improve your skills for the next mountain marathon or fell race.

 

Over 3 days we will develop the skills to be able to confidently run and navigate efficiently in the mountains. This is a fun course

Day 1 is spent building the foundations for fell running confidently in the hills. We will focus on kit and safety, running technique, considerations for the mountain environment and ultimately getting out running in the hills.

​

Day 2 introduces navigation skills and how to improve efficiency in the hills. We will put our new skills to use as we journey around the fells.

​

Day 3 is a chance to hone these new skills and learn some advanced techniques. The event will conclude with a debrief in a local pub or cafe where we can reflect on the previous days with our new friends.

​

Each evening there will be opportunities to get involved with some activities. These will vary depending on the weather but examples include group yoga and outdoor swimming.

​

Each day will consist of a couple of hours journeying through the hills at a sociable pace focusing on learning the skills to be competent and confident in the mountain environment. Exact distances will vary depending on group fitness and experience.

​

Maximum group size is 6 people for this event to ensure everyone has a personal experience and gains the most from the course.

​

Accomodation is not included, however there are many amazing campsites and b&bs available in Langdale.

Navigation for fell runners
2 Day course

This course runs over 2 days in the beautiful Langdale Valley. Suitable for all abilities and experience in fell/train running, whether you are new to running off-road or if you want to increase your skills for the next mountain marathon event.

 

Over 2 days you will develop the skills to be able to confidently run and navigate efficiently in the mountains.

​

 

Day 1 is spent building the foundations for fell running confidently in the hills. We will focus on kit and safety, running technique, navigation, route choice and decision making.

​

 

Day 2 is spent focusing on building on day 1 skills, putting them into practice and introducing some more advanced navigation techniques.

​​

Each day will consist of a couple of hours journeying through the hills at a sociable pace focusing on learning the skills to be competent and confident in the mountain environment. Exact distances will vary depending on group fitness and experience.

​

Maximum group size is 6 people for this event to ensure everyone has a personal experience and gains the most from the course.

2 day navgation training

2 Day Navigation training

This course runs over 2 days, covering map reading, pacing and timing, using a compass and many more skills to make you proficient and confident navigating in the hills.

​

Day 1 is spent learning the skills for map reading, navigating, determining location and developing your skills to be confident in the mountains.

​

Day 2 focusses on improving the skills from on day 1 and introducing some more advanced techniques such as bearings and contour interpretation.

​
